Architecture is about creating space, and shaping the space it lives within. Exploring how people and materials interact within the encompassing space of the biosphere is something that deeply interests me. Architecture exists within a space, changing it in a manner that as a practitioner of such one needs to be in tune with the workings of the space that you place a structure within. A study of how spaces interact with the environment and how people interact through these spaces into the environment. A chair in a room, a room in a house, a house in an environment, an enviroment in the greater environment”
Exploring space, size, micro vs. macrocosm the idea of the earth functioning as a reductionist system. Reductionism.. taken to a microscopic level.
I am interested in exploring the community of the campus, but linking the campus to the outside world is something that holds something for me that deals with the greater world. The interaction between this environment and its greater enclosing environment deals with this scaling idea that ive developed. Like a cell that exists within a greater organism (this biological approach). The environment, the world is a dynamic entity, a organism that is constantly changing. A static medium, plays the role of the worldview of the past, new media, changing quantifiable, computers quantify the data. Understanding the world through computers, one declares variables, but these variables need to be dynamic, neural networks, in creating systems that can change like earth a machine is something that feels out of place but I hope that this is not something that will found to be true. Mechanical, inorganic translations into organic. There is this movement that flows through the environment like a current that flows.
